Kohima College celebrates 52ndCultural Day

With the theme, ”Promote and Enrich Culture”, Kohima College celebrated its 52nd Cultural cum food fest at the college courtyard with Theja Meru, Advisor, Task Force of Music and Arts as special guest.

In his speech, Theja Meru emphasized on an acronym of his own MAD -MEASURE your progress daily, determine your ATTITUDE and DARE to dream big. With this, he narrated an example of the famous band The Beatles who had staged 1200 concerts before they became successful.

He further stressed on the future plans of the TaFMA -the best band from each district will be given a platform in the upcoming Hornbill Rock Concert (audition on 27th September, 2019), and a choir comprising of the best will represent Nagaland in Belgium in 2020 (audition on September, 2019).

He encouraged the students to keep striving, to persevere and to make their dreams come true.

The welcome note was addressed by Dr. Ralimongla, Principal, KCK, and an invocation was pronounced by Meyisangla Longkumer, Asst. Professor, Dept. of Economics. The vote of thanks was given by Imsongtemjen, Asst. Social and Cultural Secy., KCSC and a benediction by Meno E, Secretary, EU, KCK. The programme was chaired by Chamtsathü Lüzüri, social and cultural Secy, KCSC.

Special performances included a folk tune and folk dance by the Chakesang and Sumi tribes, and a Folk Fusion by the L.B.U band, after which the food fest commenced.
