23rd November, 2022: Inter-Collegiate Singing Competition organised by the Office of the Principal Accountant General, in commemoration of “Audit Awareness Week”, State Academy Hall, Kohima, Nagaland

2 students from Kohima College, Muzhimu & Shosinle Himb, represented Kohima College at the Inter-Collegiate Singing Competition bagging the 3rd position. It was organised by the Office of the Principal Accountant General to celebrate “Audit Awareness Week” & held at the State Academy Hall, Kohima, Nagaland.


28th October, 2022: Kohima College participates in the “Fit India Freedom Run 3.0” organised by the KSCDL, initiated by the MoYAS, themed as “Azadi Ke 75 Saal, Fitness Rahe Bemisaal”

12 students & 1 faculty from Kohima College, participated in the “Fit India Freedom Run 3.0” from Badminton Stadium Raj Bhavan till the High School Junction, Kohima. It was organised by the Kohima Smart City Development Limited (KSCDL) & initiated by the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports (MoYAS) under the theme “Azadi Ke 75 Saal, Fitness Rahe Bemisaal”


10th—13th October, 2022: 54th College Sports Week—with Wrestling Competition organised by Student Welfare Committee in collaboration with KCSC & Nagaland Wrestling Association (NWA)

Student Welfare Committee in collaboration with KCSC & Nagaland Wrestling Association, organised the KCK College wherein sports events were held on the 10th, 11th & 12th of October, 2022. A wrestling competition was organised with members of the NWA (Naga Wrestling Association)


5th to 12th October, 2022: Department of Political Science participated in the State-Level Essay Competition themed “RTI—A Tool for Transparent & Accountable Governance” in celebration of RTI Week 2022; wherein Kikhosou Rame, 3rd Semester, Political Science Department, Kohima College, bagged the 1st position

Kikhosou Rame, 3rd Semester & Alavinuo Mepfuo, 5th Semester, both students from the Honours Programme offered by the Department of Political Science, represented Kohima College at the state-level essay competition held during this week. Kikhosou Rame bagged the 1st position, wherein he was awarded a State-level certificate & a prize amount of Rs 15,000. Chaired by Worhonthung Ezung, Deputy Secretary, NIC, the opening speech of the RTI formal programme was given by I Meyionen Jamir, Chief Information Commissioner, Nagaland, which was followed by a film screening of a movie on RTI, “My Right, My Voice”. The Vote of Thanks was given by Obangla Jamir, IAS, Secretary, NIC.


6th October, 2022: Kohima College Students participates in the Cyber Crime Workshop organised by the North Kohima Police in commemoration of “Cyber Jagrookta Awareness Diwas”

4 students from KCSC, representing Kohima College, participated in the workshop detailing the dangers of cybercrime. It was organised by the North Kohima Police in commemoration of Cyber Jagrookta Awareness Diwas week.


20th September, 2022: Kohima College organises a Poster with Slogan competition in commemoration of Youth Voters Festival themed “Ethical Voting”

In agreement with the meeting on 24th August at the Deputy Commissioner’s office, Kohima College also participated in the Youth Voters Festival organised by District Election Office by holding a Poster with Slogan Competition for Kohima College students themed “Ethical Voting”. The winners of this competition were:

  2. Tahimu Trakha, 5th Semester
  3. Vielo-O Koza, 1st Semester

16th September, 2022: KCSC members attend the seminar held by Go Taxi Service

A programme was held by the Go Taxi Service on the benefits for the student community. It was attended by all the members of the KCSC, Kohima College.


14th September, 2022: Kohima College students participated in the Open Basketball Tournament organised by Oriental College, Kohima

A team of 15 represented Kohima College at the Open Basketball Tournament organised by Oriental CA team of 15 male students accompanied by the PE teacher, represented Kohima College at the Open Basketball Tournament organised by Oriental College, Kohima.


12th September, 2022: Selection of students for the Miss ANGSU Competition

Several female student volunteers from Kohima College participated in the try-outs for the candidates selection for Miss ANGSU competition.


5th September, 2022: KCSC organised the 1st Teachers’ Day celebration in collaboration with Student Welfare Committee at Kohima College

Kohima College Students’ Union organised the 1st Teacher’s Day celebration at Kohima College since its inception, in collaboration with the Student Welfare Committee.

2 students (Phohtao, 3rd Semester & Tokwang Konyak, 3rd Semester) representing Kohima College, participated at the 4th Inter-Collegiate Youth Talk organised by Don Bosco College, themed “Kohima Youth Talk 2022″.


24th August, 2022: Meeting with SVEEP officials for the Youth Voters’ Festival at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office, Kohima

Dr Visiezolie Yashu, Assistant Professor, Department of Education accompanied 2 Kohima College Student Council members at this meeting.


20th August, 2022: Inter-Collegiate Talent Hunt, themed “Eclectic Effervescent Effulgent”, Model Christian College, Kohima

A student from Kohima College represented Kohima College at the Inter-Collegiate Talent Hunt themed “Eclectic Effervescent Effulgent”, organised by Model Christian College, Kohima. He received a consolation prize.


 20th August, 2022: Sanitation Drive organised by KCSC in collaboration with Student Welfare Committee around the Kohima College Campus

A sanitation drive was organised by KCSC in collaboration with the Student Welfare Committee around the Kohima College Campus. It was made compulsory for all the students to participate as per the Kohima College Students’ Union’s directive


19th August, 2022: All Nagaland College Students’ Union (ANCSU) Meeting, Dimapur, Nagaland

The Annual Meeting of the All-Nagaland College Students’ Union (ANCSU) was attended by the elected Students’ Union Executive Council members of Kohima College—Hyulo Tsela, General Secretary & Lhousazolie Zumu, Assistant General Secretary.


17th—21st August, 2022: Kohima College honoured with the “Best Discipline College” at the ANGSU Collegiate Meet 2022, Sakus Mission College, Dimapur, Nagaland

Kohima College was awarded the “Best Disciplined College” at the ANGSU (All Nagaland College Students’ Union) Collegiate Meet 2022, organised by the Sakus Mission College, Dimapur, Nagaland.

77 students from 3rd Semester Political Science Honours Programme & 1 faculty member from the Department of Political Science, attended the Flag Hoisting Ceremony on Independence Day, held at Kohima College, Kohima


15th August, 2022: Department of Political Science in collaboration with NCC, KCSC & Student Welfare Committee attended the Independence Day Celebration at the Secretariat Plaza, Kohima

Department of Political Science in collaboration with Student Welfare Committee arranged 77 seats for students at the formal celebration of Independence Day at the Secretariat Plaza, Kohima. As such, 77 students from 3rd Semester Political Science Honours Programme, accompanied by Asst. Professor Vengotalu Vero, Department of Political Science, attended the event, alongside with NCC Cadets & KCSC Executive Council”


6th August, 2022: 53rd Freshers’ Social 2022

The KCSC in collaboration with the Student Welfare Committee organised the 53rd Freshers’ Social 2022. The Chair was Student Representative Sangsoi L, and the special guest was, Dr Kekhrie Yhome, Chairman, Nagaland Building & Construction Workers’ Welfare Board (NBOCWWB), Govt. of Nagaland. The programme also gave awards to students who achieved academic excellence. The various awards were—Alumni Association Topper award, History Department Topper Award, Tenyidie Department Topper Award & the Scholar Badges for subject toppers (IQAC). It ended with the selection of the Mr & Ms Fresher 2022, followed by refreshment.

The annual official photo session was held with the newly elected members of the Kohima College Students’ Council 2022-2023, with the faculty members of the Student Welfare Committee.


2nd August, 2022: 43rd Foundation Day for ANCSU

Two student representatives from KCSC 2022 attended the 43rd Foundation Day for ANCSU. The guest speaker was Dr. Medongoi Rhakho, Deputy Director, Directorate of Higher Education. The special guest was Dr. Maongsangba, Controller of Examination, Nagaland University, Lumami.


26th July, 2022: KCSC Elections 2022-2023

The Student Welfare Committee along with the Kohima College Teaching Faculty undertook various duties to facilitate the smooth process of KCSC elections for class representatives as well as the second election  for the KCSC Executive Council.


25th July, 2022: Nomination & Withdrawal Filing for KCSC Elections

The Student Welfare Committee faculty members were responsible for handle the process for nomination & withdrawal of candidates for KCSC elections.


5th July, 2022: Orientation for 1st semester Students (Freshers)

The Convenor of Student Welfare Committee, Ase Yalie, Assistant Professor, Department of Political Science was the main speaker of this event. She reminded the students of the various rules of that Kohima College Students must follow


25th June, 2022: 7th Anniversary Celebration of 100 Smart Cities themed “Sabka Bharat, Nikharta Bharat”, organised by the Kohima Smart City Development Limited

Five KCSC Student representatives participated in the opening programme for the Smart City Development Foundation Programme held at Capital Cultural Hall, Kohima, Nagaland.


25th June, 2022: Olympic Day Run 2022 themed “Together for a Peaceful World”, Organised by Nagaland Olympic Association (NOA) & Team India, IG Stadium, Kohima

Three students from Kohima College participated in the Olympic Day Run organised by the Nagaland Olympic Association (NOA) & Team India at the IG Stadium, Kohima; after which certificates were also given out to all the participants.


5th to 10th June, 2022: KCSC Exposure Trip sponsored by National Commission for Women (NCW)

3 students from Kohima College went on an exposure trip to New Delhi, sponsored by National Commission for Women (NCW). The various places they visited & learned about were—Parliament House, Ministry of Law & Justice, National Commission for Minority, National Commission for Scheduled Tribes, Office of SPUNER, PM Sangrahalaya, Gujarati Bhavan, West Bengal Bhavan, Central Cottage Industry Emporium, National Commission for Protection of Minority Rights etc.


7th April, 2022: 55th Parting Social Day

The Parting Social was organised by the Student Welfare Committee in collaboration with the KCTA & KCSC. The Guest Speaker was Chingmak Kumchuba Chang, President, Eastern Naga Students’ Federation (ENSF).


4th & 5th April, 2022: 53rd Kohima College Sports Day

The teachers-in-charge were Ketholelie Terhuja, Associate Professor, Department of Education & Nohol Rutsa, Associate Professor, Department of History. Volleyball, Football & Basketball were organised for both the male & female students, followed by an award ceremony.


31st March, 2022: One Day Workshop Themed “Effective Communication & Leadership for Class Representatives & KCSC Executives”

The Resource Persons were Dr Neikeheinuo Mepfuo, Head of Department & Moangla Yaden, both Assistant Professors from Kohima College, Department of Functional English. It was attended by 27 student representatives from KCSC.


17th March, 2022: Award Distribution Ceremony for Governor’s Award Winners of Essay Competition & Governor’s Award Winners for creating Social Impact & Awareness or Prevailing Social Ills or Creating Social Awareness on Conservation of Environment & Protection

15 students from Kohima College, Kohima attended the Award Distribution Ceremony.
