August 9, 2022: Kohima College commemorated its 55th Foundation Day cum World Indigenous Day under the theme “Fostering the Culture of Excellence” on 9th August 2022 at the college courtyard.Smti Zeneinuo Solo, Associate Professor & HoD, Political Science, and also the daughter of one of the founding members of the college, Mr. Vibeilie Solo, took the KCK family down the memory lane by sharing a brief history on the establishment of Kohima College, Kohima. Kohima College, Kohima was established in the year 1967 as the first private Arts College in Kohima, by founding members- Dr. Neilhouzhü Kire, Dr. Satuo Sekhose, Mr. Vibeilie Solo and Mr. Vilalhoulie Belho, who shared a common concern to fulfil the aspiration of the upcoming generation. For 38 years the college was under private management. Later, on February 2006, the college was taken over by the Government of Nagaland.
