Kohima College, Kohima welcomes Dr. Ralimongla as its new Principal.

Kohima College holds program to welcome its new Principal, Dr. Ralimongla.

Dr. Ralimongla had been serving in the Dept. of Geology, Kohima Science College, for over thirty years, and in addition to her teaching assignments, she was a member of the Research and Consultation Committee and the College Journal, and served as Convener of the Anti-Sexual Harassment and the Event Management, KSC. Her extension services included her being a regular Paper Presenter for Science Programmes to All India Radio, a Counselor for families of substance abuse and Member of the Governing Board, People’s College, Mokokchung.

Dr. Ralimongla addressed the gathering of faculty, ministerial staff and student council, and stated that it is a significant day for her as precisely 40 years ago, on this very day (20th July, 1979), she had joined Kohima Science College as a student, and after completion of her studies, she had taught in the same institution for over 30 years. She added that it is a significant coincidence that today is also her birthday. Dr. Ralimongla thanked the faculty, staff and students for their warm welcome and stated that she was touched by the kind gesture. She further congratulated them and also the senior teachers and staff who had retired, for the efforts and sacrifices that they had made for the college, and stated that she had come to the college with a great determination to serve the college with commitment, sincerity, and to the best of her ability. She encouraged the teachers to put more effort in the field of research and thanked them for their assurance to cooperate and to support to make Kohima College a fertile ground for the welfare of the students -to shape their future by enhancing their skills and knowledge.

The Programme was chaired by Keneilesa Neikha, HOD, Dept. of History and President, KCTA. Welcome addresses were also delivered by Thinuokhrienuo, Vice Principal, Kohima College, and Moanungla Kevichusa, HOD, English Dept. A Benediction was given by Dr. B. Khing, Asst. Professor, Dept. of Education.
